Dr. Parmis Rezvani is a highly skilled Sports Physical Therapist with extensive experience treating elite athletes across a wide range of disciplines, including the NWSL, professional tennis, MLB and MiLB, the NFL Combine, Cirque du Soleil performers, and collegiate and high school athletes. 

Her rehabilitation approach blends evidence-based interventions, advanced manual therapy, traditional strength and conditioning, and integrative techniques—always viewing the body as a connected system rather than isolated parts. 
Parmis holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University and a Bachelor's in Kinesiology from The University of Texas at Austin. With over seven years of experience in sports medicine, she specializes in injury rehabilitation and prevention, performance optimization, and seamless return-to-sport transitions. 
She is a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), with additional certifications in advanced manual therapy through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT), functional dry needling, concussion management, and Pilates-based rehabilitation.

A former athlete herself, Parmis is passionate about bridging the gap between rehabilitation and peak performance. She treats a wide range of athletic injuries with particular expertise in: ACL/knee rehabilitation and return-to-sport programming, Movement optimization and injury prevention; Strength training for athletic longevity

Dr. Tyler Ostrowski, PT, DPT, earned his doctorate in physical therapy from the University of Southern California and a bachelor's degree in human physiology from Boston University. He has worked in sports and orthopedic outpatient clinics and holds a NASM certification, along with extensive personal training experience. With extensive experience treating athletes at all levels — from recreational and high school competitors to collegiate, professional, and elite performers — Tyler brings specialized expertise to every patient.

Originally from the East Coast, he grew up as a huge sports fan, which inspired him to become a college-level athlete. He has extensive experience providing expert treatment that integrates both mind and body for powerful results. Passionate about supporting athletes and highly active individuals, Tyler helps them push beyond their perceived limitations to excel in their pursuits. 

After suffering a low back injury during his athletic career, he discovered his passion for physical therapy through his own healing journey, realizing that the most impactful practitioners were those who took the time to understand him personally and viewed him beyond his diagnosis. He looks forward to building meaningful relationships with each of his patients, allowing him to tailor interventions that address their unique needs and goals. He is committed to helping them achieve new heights and cultivate a sense of well-being in their bodies.

Dr. McKenzie Kehr PT, DPT, brings a wealth of experience in employing cutting-edge techniques for sports rehabilitation, effectively helping athletes of all skill levels recover and thrive. Dr. Kehr’s background includes working in a variety of rehabilitation settings, including time with the Milwaukee Brewers where she rehabilitated injured athletes, managing their injuries, guiding their rehabilitation and implementing injury prevention strategies. In her practice, Dr. Kehr employs a range of manual therapy techniques and progressive exercise protocols designed to help patients achieve their goals and return to their favorite activities with enhanced performance.

McKenzie began her journey in physical therapy with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Pre Physical Therapy from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She then advanced her expertise by earning a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Southern California.

McKenzie is a skilled and versatile athlete. During her high school years, she excelled as a gymnast, participating in four state championships. She is an avid runner and loves to surf and travel the world.

Dr. Matt Hemphill, PT, DPT, CAFS, is a standout sports physical therapist and a true San Diego native. A Grossmont High School alumnus, he went on to thrive at Regis University in Denver, where he competed as a four-year NCAA Division II baseball player while earning his Bachelor of Science in Pre-Physical Therapy. He then returned home to complete his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at San Diego State University.

With deep roots in the local sports scene and a career focused on high-level athletes, Dr. Hemphill has earned a reputation as one of San Diego’s premier experts in sports rehabilitation. He specializes in CrossFit and baseball athletes, combining advanced manual therapy, detailed movement analysis, and personalized performance training to deliver outstanding results. Drawing from extensive experience in elite sports facilities, he excels at helping athletes recover faster, move more efficiently, and unlock their full potential.

Dr. Iman Berri, PT, DPT, is a dedicated Doctor of Physical Therapy who bridges clinical expertise with performance-driven training to help athletes move better, recover stronger, and return to high-level competition with confidence.

With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Berri prioritizes education, movement quality, and long-term sustainability. Her clinical expertise includes injury prevention, return-to-sport rehabilitation, and strength-based programming tailored to each athlete’s goals. She is passionate about empowering individuals to not only heal but also build resilience and peak performance.

Dr. Berri earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences and her Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from Chapman University.

Outside the clinic, she is an avid strength athlete who actively practices what she preaches — constantly exploring mobility work, balance training, and innovative methods to enhance athletic performance and overall wellness.

Clinical Management of Fitness Athletes

Dr. Nick Barin, PT, DPT, OCS, Cert-CMFA, CF-L1 has been practicing physical therapy in the outpatient orthopedic setting since 2014. His interest in the field began after overcoming shoulder and lower extremity injuries from high school and collegiate volleyball at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, where he also earned his bachelor’s degree in Dietetics. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Clarke University.

Nick is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS), holds a certification in Clinical Management of Fitness Athletes (Cert-CMFA), and is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer. He is skilled in manual therapy techniques including myofascial release, decompression, joint mobilizations, and manipulations, while prescribing targeted exercises to help patients return to their prior level of activity.

His treatment philosophy focuses on identifying dysfunctional movement patterns and addressing the root causes of pain across anatomical regions, grounded in evidence-based practice and sports medicine experience. He enjoys working with a wide variety of patients, but particularly enjoys working within the sports medicine field. His interests include working with CrossFit athletes, weightlifters, overhead athletes, and recreational runners.

A Chicago native, Nick enjoys cheering for the Bears, Bulls, and Cubs, eating deep-dish pizza, traveling, spending time with his nieces and nephews, and exploring San Diego’s food scene. He stays active through CrossFit, volleyball, and hiking.

Dr. Derrick Oriondo, PT, DPT, brings a wealth of experience in helping patients recover from orthopedic and sports-related injuries and surgeries  He also emphasizes injury prevention and reducing the necessity for surgical interventions. Before joining SDSPT, Derrick served as the Clinical Director at a busy outpatient clinic, and held the position of Regional Director at a large practice specializing in athletic performance and sports rehabilitation. Throughout his career, he has worked with athletes of all levels, skillfully integrating manual therapy, exercise, and movement techniques to achieve remarkable outcomes for his patients.

A San Diego native, Derrick earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine after completing his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology at California State University, Long Beach.
In his spare time, Derrick enjoys traveling and staying active through basketball, Muay Thai, and snowboarding.

Derek earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Applied Health from Point Loma Nazarene University. A former baseball player who competed at Grossmont High School, UCSB, and PLNU, Derek’s passion for physical therapy was born from his own journey overcoming multiple injuries. That firsthand experience gives him a deep understanding of what it takes to return to peak performance — both physically and mentally.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Derek has successfully rehabilitated and trained numerous elite athletes. His expertise was further sharpened during a clinical internship with the Milwaukee Brewers. In 2023, he founded SD Sports Physical Therapy (SDSPT) with a clear mission: deliver exceptional, one-on-one care that helps athletes and active individuals recover faster and perform better. Under his leadership, SDSPT has grown into the fastest-growing sports physical therapy clinic in San Diego, expanding to three locations in just three years.

Derek is committed to providing the highest standard of personalized treatment, combining evidence-based rehabilitation with strength and conditioning to help his patients not only return to sport, but exceed their previous levels. Antonio is a former track scholarship athlete at Cal State San Marcos, where he established himself as a nationally ranked triple jumper. Renowned for his explosive power, elite athleticism, and competitive drive, he earned multiple accolades while competing at the highest levels of collegiate track and field.

Combining his athletic experience with academic excellence, Antonio earned a B.S. in Kinesiology with an emphasis in physical therapy. This foundation in both science and sport shaped his approach to performance training. As a certified NASM Strength & Speed Coach, he has become a trusted authority in athletic development, working with athletes across youth, high school, collegiate, and professional levels.

Known for his precision, results-driven methodology, and deep understanding of biomechanics, Antonio specializes in developing explosive strength, refining speed mechanics, and optimizing functional performance. His ability to translate cutting-edge training principles into measurable gains has helped countless athletes unlock their peak potential and achieve breakthrough results..
