Seeing these young athletes earn recognition on a national stage is something worth celebrating.
This summer, Jose “Micho” Partida and Lukas Waite competed in the 2026 Perfect Game All-American Classic. We’re excited to recognize both players for this outstanding accomplishment.
We’re also proud of Jose “Micho” Partida, Lukas Waite and Josh Priest, who all represented the Milwaukee Brewers’ regional team at the Area Code Games. Congratulations to all three on earning their selections.
These are major milestones in a young player’s career. Each deserves to be recognized.
Jose Partida and Lukas Waite earn All-American honors
The Perfect Game All-American Classic brings together a small group of the top high school baseball prospects in the country. The 2026 event featured a 60-player field and took place August 16 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, home of the Phillies.
Micho, a left-handed pitcher from Cathedral Catholic, and Lukas, a right-handed pitcher from Patrick Henry, were both named to the West roster. Their selections are a proud moment for their families, schools and the San Diego baseball community.
Many baseball fans remember this event by its earlier name, the Aflac All-American Classic. Its history includes hundreds of players who went on to reach Major League Baseball and hundreds of first-round draft selections. That history helps explain why an invitation carries so much weight.
For the players, it is an opportunity to compete alongside and against exceptional talent on a major league field. For their families, coaches and everyone supporting them, it is a moment to appreciate how much work has gone into getting there.
Micho and Lukas earned their place in that group. Congratulations to both on a well-deserved honor.

Area Code Games recognition for Jose Partida, Lukas Waite and Josh Priest
The Area Code Games are one of the nation’s most prestigious high school baseball showcases.
The 2026 event brought more than 240 top players to Blair Field in Long Beach for six days of competition. Eight regional teams competed in an environment designed for evaluation, with scouts from all 30 Major League organizations and college coaches in attendance.
The selection process is part of what makes Area Codes significant. Tryouts are invitation-only, with invitations informed by recommendations from professional scouts. Players then have to earn a place on a regional roster.
The Milwaukee Brewers’ Area Code team represents Southern California and Hawaii. Wearing that uniform at this event is a meaningful achievement, and we’re proud of the SDSPT athletes who earned that opportunity.
Jose “Micho” Partida, Lukas Waite and Josh Priest all earned Area Code Games selections. Making that group places a player in an exceptionally competitive setting and creates an opportunity to be evaluated against some of the best prospects in the country. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone with all three.
An Area Code connection that continues
This year’s selections build on the accomplishments of other athletes who have worked with SDSPT, including Grayson Boles. Grayson earned Area Code recognition before being drafted by the Kansas City Royals in 2025 out of St. Augustine High School in San Diego. We’re excited to see him take that next step into professional baseball.
A personal connection to the Area Code Games
This event also has a personal connection for me. In 2012, I played for the Milwaukee Brewers’ Area Code team while attending Grossmont High School. Seeing athletes we now work with earn their own place at Area Codes makes these selections especially meaningful to me as the owner of SD Sports Physical Therapy.
Having experienced the event as a player, I know how special that opportunity is. It’s exciting to see the next generation earn their own place there.
Grateful to be part of their journey
These accomplishments reflect the players’ hard work and dedication, along with the support of their families, coaches and teammates.
We’re grateful to work with these young athletes at SDSPT, whether that means helping with rehab when something comes up, supporting recovery or working on performance. It’s a privilege to know them and cheer them on.
Congratulations to Micho, Lukas, Josh, Grayson and our entire Area Code Games group. We’re proud of you and excited to see what comes next.
